Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Evaal exists to help engineering managers protect their teams and themselves. The product is intentionally designed to make some uses impossible, and this policy makes the rest of the limits explicit. Violation of this policy is grounds for termination of service.
If you are evaluating Evaal and your organisation requires uses that may conflict with this policy, email hello@evaal.ai before signing. Evaal would rather have the conversation up front than terminate a customer later.
Evaal is not for individual performance management
Evaal customers may not use Evaal output as the basis for individual performance reviews, terminations, performance improvement plans, compensation decisions, or any other personnel action targeting a single named engineer. The product is designed to surface aggregated team-level signals; the few signals Evaal computes about individuals (burnout risk, focus time) are computed for the protection of those individuals, not for their evaluation.
If your organisation needs an engineering performance management tool, Evaal is not it. Evaal will refer you to vendors who serve that use case openly and will not approve a Pilot Agreement intended for that purpose.
Evaal is not for surveillance
Evaal customers may not use Evaal to monitor, track, or report on the activity of individual engineers in ways those engineers have not been informed of and have not had the opportunity to question. Customers are responsible for transparent disclosure to their engineers about what Evaal observes.
Evaal will not modify the product to make individual-engineer surveillance easier, regardless of the contract value attached to the request.
Burnout signals are not for HR or escalation
Burnout risk scores computed by Evaal are reported privately to the manager only. Customers may not configure Evaal to forward those signals to HR systems, to talent management tools, or to anyone other than the direct manager. Customers may not use those signals as evidence in employment matters.
Burnout signals exist so a manager can intervene supportively (a 1:1, a workload conversation, time off). Any other use violates this policy.
No reverse engineering, no model extraction
Customers may not attempt to reverse-engineer Evaal's models, extract model weights, train competing systems on Evaal output, or use Evaal as a labelled dataset for any other purpose.
No data scraping or automation abuse
Customers may not script, scrape, or otherwise automate access to Evaal beyond the documented API. Customers may not share access credentials or allow access to anyone outside the contracted organisation.
No abusive, illegal, or harmful use
Customers may not use Evaal to violate the law, to harm any individual, or to enable harassment, discrimination, or retaliation against any engineer. The product is designed to help; misuse is grounds for immediate termination of service without refund.
Reporting violations
If you believe Evaal is being misused, by your employer or by anyone else, you may report it confidentially to hello@evaal.ai. Evaal commits to investigate every report and to act when the report is substantiated, including terminating customer relationships where appropriate.
